Sparks in the Park Fireworks Stage 2024-2025

Sparks in the Park used the compact 8m x 4m trailer stage for announcements and live singers ahead of the fireworks display. HeathTech supplied the stage, lighting design and operation, then used the experience of a difficult muddy approach in 2024 to improve the stage position for the 2025 event.

A stage plan built around the event and its site.

The stage supported the live part of a large council fireworks night without competing with the main display. Announcements and solo performers needed a clear covered platform, but the programme did not require the depth of the larger 8m x 6m stage.

The 8m x 4m format kept the event footprint compact while still providing a full-width front for the audience. Lighting was rigged with the roof lowered and a starcloth formed the rear visual backdrop. JnS Sound and Lighting supplied the other technical equipment, with HeathTech handling the stage and lighting operation.

Site and access

Working with the conditions on the ground.

The 2024 stage position was reached over wet grass and across a muddy slope. During manoeuvring, the trailer and towing vehicle lost traction before reaching the final mark. The company support pickup was used to assist the combination out of the soft ground and complete the positioning without abandoning the planned stage build.

Delivery and setup

A practical route from arrival to show-ready.

Once positioned, the stage and lighting setup took approximately two hours. The roof remained lowered while the lighting and rear starcloth were installed, keeping the rigging work at a practical height before the structure was raised for the public programme. Collection took place after the event that evening.

For the 2025 return, the stage location was moved to flatter ground. That change directly addressed the access lesson from the previous year and reduced the risk of the trailer encountering the same muddy slope during positioning and load-out.

The result

The compact stage provided a defined live-performance and announcement point in front of a large fireworks-night audience. More importantly, the delivery plan was improved between the two events: the revised 2025 position retained the stage's role in the programme while giving the vehicle team a more suitable working route on grass.
