Rushcliffe Proms in the Park 2026 Stage

For Rushcliffe Proms in the Park, HeathTech supplied an 8m x 6m trailer stage with covered PA wings on the grass at Bridgford Park. Access through a height-restricted gate and the need to meet the client's existing backstage ramp made advance coordination just as important as the two-hour stage build.

Rushcliffe Borough Council's annual Proms in the Park brought a full day of live music to Bridgford Park as part of the area's Armed Forces Day programme. The stage needed to accommodate the changing music acts, provide protected positions for the PA hangs and connect cleanly to an existing backstage access ramp.

The 8m x 6m configuration gave the programme a covered main performance area, while PA wings kept the loudspeaker positions outside the working deck. Stage Connections supplied the sound and lighting equipment, so the build sequence was coordinated around their rigging and the agreed stage handover.

Site and access

Working with the conditions on the ground.

The vehicle route into Bridgford Park included a gate with insufficient overhead clearance for the folded trailer stage. The council team arranged for the obstructing section to be removed before arrival, preventing the delivery from being delayed at the park boundary. The grass position and client-supplied ramp also meant that the final deck level had to be agreed before setup.

Delivery and setup

A practical route from arrival to show-ready.

Once the access route was clear, the stage was moved onto the grass and levelled in its agreed position. The deck height was set to meet the backstage ramp, then the roof was lowered so the Stage Connections team could install lighting and the PA chain blocks at working height. Covered PA wings were raised with the main structure to protect the loudspeaker positions from rain. The trailer stage setup took approximately two hours and collection followed after the evening programme.

The finished stage connected to the existing backstage route, gave the music programme an 8m-wide covered performance area and provided weather protection at both PA positions. Resolving the gate clearance before delivery kept the event-day build straightforward and avoided an access problem when the production teams were working to a fixed schedule.
